King’s Crown Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank all four sides, the White 4 1/2″ square to create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 7″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 2″ x 6″ strips, as well as the White 2″ x 9″ strips, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides by the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ square, which will also create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6″ strips (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ square on one side, and the results of the Light Blue 7″ squares on the opposite sides, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 9″ strips. (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ square on one side, and the results of the Light Blue 7″ squares on the opposite sides, as needed for this quilt block.)
