Shaggy Hug & Mooch Quilt

Quilt Therapy Posted on August 4, 2008 by TK HarrisonAugust 4, 2008

Once again, I became obsessed with quilting.  Thursday evening, I had put together one X of my Hug & Mooch quilt pattern, using flannels.  By Friday evening, I was totally engrossed, and bound-and-determined to finish it to the point of clipping my seams…so, I could sit down with the hubs and finish watching a series we’d began a few weeks ago.

I made it – whew!  And then, after the movie and sending dh to bed, I added a border and threw it in the washer!

LOVE it!  Will need to make some edits to my pattern, but not a whole lotta work and a completely finished quilt project when done!

Quilt Networking

Quilt Therapy Posted on August 1, 2008 by TK HarrisonAugust 1, 2008

I’m not one to go many places, especially if there’s crowds – because of these miserable skin allergies (which I finally have mostly under control).  I’m also not one to play office politics very well — I’m just too direct and honest for talking in circles and trying to say something without actually saying it.  Nope, that’s not me.  I prefer to sit in my little shed, on our little hill, and work my quilting magic through the computer.

So, I’ve been trying to make it a point to email at least one new blogger (or leave a comment) or website owner a day – to just visit or market my products or see how we can work together.  It sure makes a world of difference in how I feel about my quilting, and how I can add a touch of quilting into my day, even if I’m not sitting in my sewing room!

So, today, I issue you a challenge – break out of your normal mode and try to visit and comment or email one other quilter.  Find something you like, and just share your quilted heart joy with them.  I’m betting it’ll make both of you feel better … and make your quilting steps just a little lighter.

If you’d like, you can start with the Cotton Spice summer workshop — because there’s two full weeks of projects that are completetly free – and I plan to make one or two this coming weekend!
