Quilt Backs

Quilt Therapy Posted on April 10, 2008 by TK HarrisonApril 10, 2008

It’s rare that I jump out on a limb and make a scrappy back for my quilts.  I dunno, just seems that I’ve spent a lot of time making a pretty quilt top … I don’t want to take the focus off of the quilted love that I’ve put together.

I’m a muslin kinda gal … most of the quilts that I make have muslin on the back – either bleached or unbleached, depending on the colors on the front of my quilts.

I also think about the fact that the back of a quilt is what touches your body, if you’re laying under it.  I personally don’t want a bunch of seams against me … that’d irritate me, somewhat.

Occasionally, though, I do take the high road!

This is the quilt back for my new “Strawberry Lemonade Candy” quilt, made with Moda’s Strawberry Lemonade fabrics.  Ain’t it cute?!  Since this is a baby quilt, I decided that babies like color.

As a mom of four, I’ve been-there, done-that when it comes to making baby happy.  As I put the back of this quilt together, my first thought was that with a great front and back … this quilt could be used twice before it has to be laundered!  I know, I know … always thinking, ain’t I?!

The “Strawberry Lemonade Candy” quilt pattern is written and waiting for me to print it.  Stay tuned for it’s announcement!

A Webmonster’s Work is Never Done

Quilt Therapy Posted on April 2, 2008 by TK HarrisonApril 2, 2008

My work has stood in the way of my work.  I’ve been busy keeping up with my client’s needs … too busy to update my own website.  It’s always a catch-22 … if I don’t keep my site current, I risk losing customers.  If I do take the time to keep my site current, I risk losing clients.

But, my biggest client is out of town for the week, so I took full advantage of the time and updated my site.  Hooray for me!

I still have more patterns to put up and write, but boy-oh-boy does it feel good to have the software updated and formatted … and my latest patterns live and for sale!

Nine-Patch Star Baby Quilt

Quilt Therapy Posted on March 3, 2008 by TK HarrisonMarch 3, 2008

Remember that I completed a couple of baby quilt patterns, last month?  I’ve been (im)patiently waiting to get them back from my quilter, as I just feel photographs are better visuals than the image of a quilt pattern cover.

I received one a week ago, and had time this past weekend to get the binding on.  Ahhhh, progress feels good!

Isnt’ that a pretty quilt?!  And it’s SEW VERY SIMPLE for beginners and experienced quilters alike!

You can order the pattern HERE.

And, we’ve made it super-easy for you … you can order a complete kit for this baby quilt HERE.  Look at that price!!!  Less than $15 for everything you need, except the thread and the batting.  I honestly don’t think you can get better than that!
