Adventures in Quilt Photography
The ceilings in our living room are 7′ from front to back but they gradually peak and meet at 8′ in the center. When it came time to photographing this quilt, based on my Christmas in July 2017 at BOMquilts.com “Invite a Moose to Christmas” design set, it was quite a challenge! With my husband standing on one chair and our son on another, with both of their hands holding the quilt and both touching the ceiling, it was still too long for me to get a good photo of it.
Next call of duty was to hang it off our deck outside. At one end of our deck, there’s enough clearance for a person to walk under it, so that’s the end we chose. Again, with my husband and son holding the quilt from the top with the addition of my daughter and a friend holding the bottom, I commenced to firing off my camera in shuttering speeds to catch the good light.
When all I really caught…was air.
It’s even prettier in person! I just love it! When Wade (my son) saw it, he said “not to wish you dead or anything Mom, but when you do die, can you make sure I get this quilt instead of Sister getting it?” It’s so special that even a 24 year old MALE can recognize it’s beauty. Love u, my friend.
Love you, too, m’dear.
