Bright Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut ONE 5″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (This is flanked by the results of the White 7″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut ONE 5″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (This is flanked by the results of the White 7″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 7″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Pink 5″ squares & the results of the Purple 5″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)

Bright Star Variation Quilt Block

- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 7 1/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Aqua: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Aqua: Cut TWO (2) 5″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the Blue 7 1/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Aqua 3″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
