Star Trek Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares, which will create a Nine-Patch. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 1/2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch portions. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FIVE (5) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 2″ squares, which will create a Nine-Patch. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWENTY (20) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 1 1/2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch portions. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the center Nine-Patch & will create a Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Turquoise 4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
