Family or Business?
I had a tough-call weekend. It was homecoming in our little town, and all four of my children were involved in the activities, some of them involved in more than one event.
It was also Quilt Market in Houston – a must-do for a quilt entrepreneur like myself.
I asked my husband if he could handle the kids and homecoming, even though my heart hated to miss all of the fun that the kids were going to have. He said if I was able to give him a solid schedule of where and when the kids needed to be and who was helping him with them or what he needed to be involved in…then, he thought he could handle it and was extremely supportive of me heading east.
I did what we agreed upon, but it was still hard for me to miss my eldest daughter’s not-a-date-homecoming-date….my middle daughter playing in the band for both the football game and in the parade….my son’s first time in a homecoming parade on his class float….and my youngest daughter being captain of her Bob Kitten cheer squad for the football game as well as her part on her class float for the parade.
I still haven’t heard from each child about what all I missed … but, I did make it home, as promised, to take the kids trick-or-treating last night!
While I collect my thoughts and photos about all that I missed and want to share, let me just show you my little ghouls and goblins from last night:
