Thanksgiving Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Peach: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
- Peach: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Orange 6 3/8″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- Peach: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 4 3/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Orange: Cut TEN (10) 3 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/4″ squares which will create TWENTY (20) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Orange: Cut ONE (1) 6 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Peach 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Peach 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
- White: Cut TEN (10) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Orange 3 3/4″ squares which will create TWENTY (20) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Peach 4 3/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)

Sew TWELVE (12) “Thanksgiving Quilt Blocks” to end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished & 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
