Fish Basket Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Jade: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White
6 7/8″ square that’s in the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block.) - Jade: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These rectangles are paired in ONE (1) end with the White 3 1/2″ square that’s in the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. They’re also paired with the Jade/White Half-Square Triangle that’s in the center of this quilt block.)
- Jade: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the White 6 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Half-Square Triangle. Once it’s sewn together it’ll be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. It’s paired one TWO (2) sides with the Jade 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Jade 3 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. Only ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is needed for this quilt block. Once the Half-Square Triangle is sewn together it’ll be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.Will yield TWO (2) triangles. Only ONE (1) of these triangles is needed for this quilt block. (This triangle is the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block. It’s paired with the results of the Jade 3 7/8″ square.)
