Blue Fields Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 4 1/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 7″ square. (This will be flanked, on all FOUR (4) sides, by the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares and will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares, and will also be the FOUR (4) corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Blue 2 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWELVE (12) 2 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 2″ squares, as well as the results of the Blue 2 1/2″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
