Federal Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut TWENTY-SIX 1 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 3/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 6 1/2″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) visual Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 6 1/2″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the Purple 2″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) visual Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut THIRTY-TWO (32) 1 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 3/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
