Grampie’s Favorite Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Teal: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Teal: Cut TWO (2) 3 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 5/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Teal: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the smaller Half-Square Triangles. Then they’ll be flanked by the White 3 7/8″ squares. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Teal 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 5/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Teal 2 5/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Teal 4 1/4″ & they’re also flanked by the smaller Half-Square Triangles. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.
