Reduce Stress? HAH!
One of the things that has been recommended to me by people with MS and by my MS specialist is that I need to reduce stress in my life. Let’s take a look at my schedule for the next two weeks and see where I can trim the fat:
- Tuesday – CEO of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas visiting our town for the first time ever, with a meet and greet with the local community at the coffee shop.
- Tuesday – I have to stop at our local apple store (this town in Texas used to be known as the apple capital of the world) and choose a gift for the troop to give to the CEO that is indicative of our town/region.
- Tuesday – CEO of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas visiting an elementary school in our county in the evening to have a chance to visit with the Girl Scouts of our county (including my own two Girl Scout daughers) in the evening.
- Girl Scout cookie sales have finished up and as the cookie mom, I have to do the final financial documentation and end-of-sale documentation for the Service Unit’s cookie mom.
- Tuesday – Husband and son have Cub Scouts and I’m not real sure how they are going to get there since we only have one working vehicle.
- Wednesday – No Nap! Grocery store and Sacred Arts class after school.
- Thursday – Girl Scouts in the evening.
- Thursday – DD#1 has one act play practice in the evening.
- Friday – Service Unit (county) Thinking Day event, for which I have yet to finish the quilt made out of official Girl Scout fabric (haven’t even cut out the fabric yet!) to be awarded to the winning ticket-holder. Not only will our troop have a booth but I volunteered to be in charge of the event, so I will be pulling double duty by making sure everything goes smoothly for both my troop and the Girl Scout Service Unit. This was one of the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliett Gordon Low’s most important holidays on the Girl Scout calendar and as far as I know, our Service Unit has not recognized it in many years. I aim to change that.
- Saturday – cook all day for DD#2’s confirmation the next day. And I predict a BIG NAP!
- Sunday – DD#2 gets confirmed in our church, with a meal and reception immediately following.
- Monday – DD#2 has a tennis meet and husband needs to attend the School Board meeting.
- Tuesday – Cub scouts for the dad-person and son-man.
- Wednesday – back to the grocery store and church class for the younger kids.
- Wednesday – DD#1 takes their one act play on the road for a festival in a nearby school.
- Thursday – our youngest child turns TEN!
- Thursday – DD#1 has one act play practice,
Those things are all obligations that I took on before my MS and no-stress diagnosis. And that does not include work, feeding the kids or much needed quilt therapy!
Now, just wear am I supposed to trim the stress???
