Quilted Kitchen: Fig Leaf Quilt Block & Fig Leaf Rice Pilaf Recipe
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked on ONE (1) side by the White 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips & on ONE (1) other side by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. As needed
- Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block)
- Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the main parts of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut SIX (6) 2 1/2″ squares. (TWO (2) of these are the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corner’s of this quilt block. TWO (2) others are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. The final TWO (2) are flanked by the results of the Salmon 2 7/8″ squares. All are needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Salmon 2 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the White
2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips & on the other side by the White 2 1/2″ squares. As needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & lower left-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Fig Leaf Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
