This “Krazy Krakow” quilt was designed in May of 2009, using Mark Lipinski’s “Krakow” quilt fabric. It is a really fun sew-n-slash lap quilt that goes together very quickly and could be a staple quilt pattern for you for years to come. And did I mention the quilt pattern is FREE?! Check it out at BOMquilts.com!

BOMquilts.com 2014 Block of the Month Quilt
Once I completed my 2013 BOMquilts.com’s “Pendleton Inspired” quilt, I was itching to get started on my 2014 “He Loves Me, He Loves me Not” block of the month quilt for BOMquilts.com!
As a recap, the fabric we decided on is “He Still Loves Me” designed by Jackie Robinson for Benartex and AbbiMays.com once again is the co-sponsor of this block of the month quilt. These are the fabrics:
Last week, I finally received the thread for this block of the month quilt, flown in and dropped off on the porch straight from Italy (kind of) as the 2014 block of the month quilt is co-sponsored by Aurifil threads. These are the threads to be used in this quilt:
Over the weekend, I just could NOT stand it anymore and had to put one of the blocks for the block of the month quilt together. Call me silly but that once that first block is completed, there is a big collective sigh that the pattern I wrote and the needle position on my sewing machine are in perfect harmony. Here is the first block for the “He Loves Me, He Loves me Not” 2014 block of the month quilt at BOMquilts.com:
Although this is the easiest block to make for this quilt, I’m loving the colors and the combinations of fabrics for the subsequent blocks. And then I smile…stroke the block a bit…share the photo a few more times…and then get busy with the other 11 quilt blocks!
“Pendleton Inspired” Going Into the Home Stretch
My “Pendleton Inspired” 2013 block of the month quilt at BOMquilts.com is nearing the end. What a fun quilt to work on, and the fabric is so luscious!
Unfortunately, I got behind early in the game and it took a few months for me to catch up with my blocks. But now? All 12 of the blocks are completed, though the instructions for the final block will not be posted until January 22nd.
I have also put the entire quilt together and let me just say, it’s fanquiltastic! It will definitely keep someone warm on a cold night, with the quilt to snuggle with and a delicious cup of hot cocoa.
Let me also take this time to thank the co-sponsors of this quilt – AbbiMays.com and Aurifil threads. Go ahead, check out what they have to offer to show them some love!
Keep watching for Block 12 and the final instructions at BOMquilts.com – you never know, they may show up earlier than expected!
Flashback Tuesday: Hart Bunny Quilted Wall Hanging
I designed and made these Easter Bunny wall hangings in 2009. They are absolutely adorable and instead of using them for wall hangings, I’ve been known to just use them as table toppers when we have our family Easter meal. A fun and festive way to enjoy Easter!
And the FREE quilt pattern is still available at BOMquilts.com!
Electric Seam Ripper
One of the gifts I received from Linda at AbbiMays.com this Christmas was this Galaxy Notions electric seam ripper.
I have to tell you, I considered sewing something and then ripping it out with this gadget, but I refrained from doing so. Then yesterday morning, I was binding a quilt and realized I’d put the silly thing on backwards! So, without further ado, I now had a reason to break out this seam ripper and WHOA! Amazing little gadget – and now one of my precious ones in my “must have’ basket of quilt needs. I will tell you that it did not like to rip out back-stitched areas of my quilt…but, once I manually ripped those out, this little tool went to work and I can tell you I have never had so much fun! 🙂
After I received mine, I purchased two more for special women on my Christmas list.
If you do not have one, you NEED one! Go to AbbiMays.com right now and order your own. You will fall in love with this modern miracle for ripping out seams!!!
