Boardwalk Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
(Ed. Note: This is a scrappy quilt block so just choose whatever scraps you want to use, and cut your bits and pieces out of them, so you end up with the quilt block shown above.)
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This will flank ONE (1) end of one of the White 1 7/8″ x 7 5/8″ rectangles. which will create (1) Snowball Corner, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the results of the White 1 7/8″ x 7 5/8″ rectangles & the results of the Yellow 1 7/8″ square.)
- Orange: Cut ONE (1) 5 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. - Red: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This will flank the end of one of the White 1 7/8″ x 7 5/8″ rectangle, which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Red: Cut ONE (1) 5 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. - Purple: Cut ONE (1) 5 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the opposite sides of the results of the Yellow 5 7/8″ square, as well as the opposite side of the results of the Red 5 7/8″ square.)
- Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of ONE (1) of the White 1 3/4″ x 7 1/2″ rectangles & the results of the White 1 3/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
