Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 6 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square.

Rising Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Green: Cut TWO (2) 6 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Lt. Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 6 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square.

    Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

    • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square.
    • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
    • Orange: Cut SIX (6) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (you will have an extra half-square triangle when finished)
    • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square.
    • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (you will have an extra half-square triangle when finished)
    • White: Cut ONE (1) 6″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (you only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block)
    • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ x 7 3/4″ strips.
    • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/2″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
